Coming off a surprise upset Saturday against Northwestern, the University of Minnesota football team will get national exposure when the team hosts Nebraska next weekend.
The Associated Press reports the game at TCF Bank Stadium will be televised on ESPN on Saturday, with kick off at 11 a.m.
The Lincoln Journal Star said the Nebraska-Minnesota game ended up in “about as prime a television location as could be hoped for such a game.” The paper speculated that Minnesota’s 20-17 win in Evanston yesterday no doubt helped put it on the main station.
No. 25 Nebraska is 5-1 overall and 2-0 in Big Ten play. Minnesota is 5-2 overall and 1-2 in Big Ten play.
Gopher Coach Jerry Kill has stepped away for an undetermined length of time to attend to health concerns following a series of seizures. Kill surprised the team by attending the game against Northwestern.
Defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys, who is acting as interim head coach, tells the Pioneer Press Kill will likely attend the Nebraska game, as well.
