The Minnesota Golden Gopher football team fell out of the AP Top 25 poll on Sunday, marking the first time they’ve been unranked in over a year.
The Gophers’ fall was triggered by an ugly 49-24 loss to No. 18 Michigan on Saturday night. While the Wolverines moved up five spots in the poll to 13th, the Gophers were unable to stay in the poll for the first time since last October.
In all, five teams from the Big Ten made the cut with Ohio State leading the way at No. 3. Wisconsin (No. 9), Michigan, Indiana (No. 17), and Penn State (No. 18) rounded out the conference’s representation in the rankings.
The Gophers will have a chance to make a case to get back into the poll when they travel to Maryland on Friday night.
