The University of Minnesota uncorked a two-year trial of beer and wine sales at TCF Bank Stadium during the Gophers football game against the University of New Hampshire.
While U of M officials won’t release sales totals until mid-week, there are indications that sales were a success. KSTP-TV reports that the wait in line was anywhere from 6 to 12 minutes in line.
Grain Belt, Summit Pale Ale and Miller Lite beer, as well as red and white wine, were sold at $7.25 a glass out of tents on the west plaza and in an overflow area outside of Gate A.
Fans had plenty of good reasons to toast their team, as the Gophers trounced New Hampshire, 44-7.
