The Gopher Basketball team opened their 2013-14 season with an inter-squad scrimmage at Williams Arena tonight that was open to the public, and it drew a whos-who of top end Minnesota recruits.
Class of 2015 power forward Henry Ellenson of Rice Lake High School was at The Barn. Ellenson’s brother Wally is a sophomore guard for head coach Richard Pitino, and is ranked 49th in the ESPN 60 of high school juniors.
Another 2015 talent sure to get some top end offers was also in the building, DeLaSalle’s Jarvis Johnson. The point guard is the top-ranked Minnesotan in the junior class, and is ranked 68th nationally according to Rivals. He already has an offer from the U of M, as well as eight other schools.
Class of 2016 studs Brock Bertram and Cameron Kirsey of Apple Valley, and Amir Coffey of Hopkins were also in attendance.
So far top #Gophers targets at the scrimmage are @Hjellenson, @LuckyLefty0, @MuhneyyChief_12 and @BertramBrock, per Ryan James. Nice turnout
