If everything goes as planned, Joe Mauer is getting hitched Saturday, crushing the hopes of many female Twins’ fans around the state.
The Twins’ catcher will marry high school classmate Maddie Bisanz in St. Paul.
Mauer and Bisanz were friends at Certin-Derham Hall High School but didn’t begin dating until they reconnected about two-and-a-half years ago, according to Fansided.com Sports Network.
Bisanz was first publicly found out as Mauer’s girlfriend when the two tried to sneak up to Duluth last year where Mauer was forced into an impromptu press conference at the Northland Country Club.
Earlier this year, Mauer’s father, Jake, told David Shama the wedding will be “huge” with at least 350 guests.
You could hear hearts breaking all over Minnesota the day it was announced the two were engaged, although Saturday could be particularly hard for some:
