The hits keep on coming for the Twins, but not the kind that generate runs and wins.
Already winless in seven games to start the season – a franchise record – the Twins are sending closer Glen Perkins to the disabled list with a left posterior shoulder strain.

Perkins has an 9.00 ERA after allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits and a walk in just two appearances this season, including a blown save in Minnesota’s extra-inning loss to the Royals on Sunday.
The left-hander was an All-Star last season before falling apart, in part due to nagging injuries, in the second half of the season.
With Perkins out the Twins will call up left-hander Taylor Rogers. He’ll be available for Wednesday game against the White Sox.
Perkins to the disabled list likely means right-hander Kevin Jepsen will take over the closer duties. He saved 10 games for the Twins when Perkins was ailing last season, but so far this season he’s been roughed up in two of his three appearances.
