There aren’t many states that produce more big-time football players than Georgia, and a state championship-winning quarterback from the Peach State announced his commitment to the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Thursday.
Aaron Philo, who attends Prince Avenue Christian School, committed Thursday, saying he’s “all in” and ready to Row the Boat. Philo passed for 4,598 yards and 54 touchdowns as a junior, which followed the 4,540 yards and 47 touchdowns he had a sophomore.

Philo committed one day after taking an unofficial visit to the University of Minnesota. He picked Minnesota over offers from Connecticut, Coastal Carolina, Western Michigan, Georgia Southern and others.
No other Big Ten schools have offered him.
He’s 6-foot-2 and was named the Peach State Division I Offensive Player of the Year as a junior. His 4,598 yards were the most in the state by 480 yards, according to Max Preps.
