The Minnesota Lynx will have to wait to tip off their WNBA semifinal series with the Seattle Storm as Sunday’s Game 1 of the series was postponed due to coronavirus testing concerns.
The Lynx had arrived at IMG Academy in Orlando to warm up, but their game was initially delayed 90 minutes due to inconclusive COVID tests for several Storm players.
As the game neared closer, WNBA commissioner Kathy Engelbert boarded the Storm’s team bus to inform the players of the postponement. Storm players are currently in isolation and it is unclear when the best-of-five series will begin.
The WNBA had several false-positive tests during the regular season, but the concerns were not enough to cause a delay. The league has not announced when Game 1 will be played, but Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Tuesday night.
