Gabe Kalscheur is off to one heckuva start with the Gophers men’s basketball team.
The true freshman from DeLaSalle hit a career-high seven 3-pointers in Minnesota’s win over Santa Clara on Tuesday, and he followed it up by hitting an incredible go-ahead 3-pointer in the final seconds of Wednesday’s championship game against Washington in the Vancouver Showcase.

Kalscheur’s high-arcing 3-pointer was nothing-but-net and it gave the Gophers a 68-66 lead with 2.1 seconds left in the game for a dramatic victory.
“That was insane. That was something you would typically see in March Madness or something,” said Jordan Murphy, via GopherSports.com.
Murphy led Minnesota with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Amir Coffey added 17 points and Kalscheur had just nine points after setting a career-high with 25 against Santa Clara the day before.
The victory puts Minnesota at 5-0 on the season and now they get a break for Thanksgiving before playing at Boston College on Monday in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
