That tweet above is from Colin Schmidt, a hockey player going into his junior year at Wayzata High School who has verbally committed to play for the University of Minnesota.
And apparently he can shoot the puck a little bit.
Schmidt tweeted that photo earlier this week during an apparent training sessions with the Individual Skills clinic, based in Plymouth.
As a sophomore last year, Schmidt led the Trojans with 12 regular season goals and tacked on 11 assists. He added another goal in the state tournament championship game, which Wayzata won 5-3 over Eden Prairie.
Schmidt announced in May he committed to the Gophers.
SB Nation’s College Hockey site reported he was picked by Waterloo 10th overall in the 2016 USHL Phase 1 Draft – adding don’t expect Schmidt to be playing for the U of M for a couple more years at least.
