It’s still a few days away, but Mother Nature could have a major impact on the Vikings-Ravens game Sunday in Baltimore.
The National Weather Service forecast for Baltimore on Sunday calls for an 80 percent chance of freezing rain. WCCO-TV’s Chris Shaffer agrees.

Here’s the latest wording for Baltimore from weather.gov’s hazardous weather outlook.
There is a potential for a significant icing event Sunday into early Monday…Mainly west of I-95. Precipitation may begin as snow before changing over to a period of freezing rain and/or sleet. Uncertainty remains regarding the specifics of the event. Please continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
The Baltimore Sun says whether the storm produces snow, rain or ice during the game will be a game-time decision.
The expected winter storm is the same system that dumped snowfall across Minnesota. The southern part of the storm is currently blasting parts of Texas, Oklahoma and other mid-American states with freezing rain and ice.
As for the game itself, Vikings coach Leslie Frazier says Christian Ponder won’t play because he still hasn’t passed the NFL’s concussion protocol.
According to the Pioneer Press, cornerback Josh Robinson and tight end Kyle Rudolph remain out as well. Rudolph could return from a foot injury next week.
