In sports, NFL preseason games are like missives that end up in a dead-letter office: Good intentions that somehow never arrive.
Having said that, Sunday night’s nationally televised match-up between the Minnesota Vikings and the San Francisco 49ers promises a little more intrigue than is usually attached to an exhibition.
For instance, there’s an exchange between the Daily Norseman and NinersNation about what the game holds. Norseman: It’s a dress rehearsal. Niners: Who’s playing late in the ballgame?
Nice try, fellas, but let’s go to Coach on this one.
Vikings.com has posted a video and a transcript of Vikings coach Leslie Frazier’s Friday press conference. Excerpts followed by video:
Q: Your first offense will play for at least the first half?
A: We will play our first offense, and our first defense, through the first half. We plan on bringing them out to kick off the third quarter as well.
and …
Q: Erin Henderson will play Sunday then?
A: He will play.
And, you know, there’s the whole AP issue … Video is posted here.
