Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier has a message for cornerback Antoine Winfield: he’s still welcome at Winter Park, according to the Pioneer Press.
Winfield — who played for the Vikes for 11 years — retired yesterday after being cut by the Seattle Seahawks.
Frazier says he’d “welcome” the opportunity to work with Winfield again.
“I have a deep affection for him,” Frazier said. “But if he wanted to play, I’d welcome the opportunity to work with Antoine again if that’s what he wanted to do.
But if he’s retired, I wish him nothing but the best. He’s been a great player, a great person and he’s going to enjoy retirement. But he was a tremendous player for a long time in our league.”
Frazier commented on Winfield during his Monday news conference. You can see it in its entirety, via Vikings.com, right here.
