Vikings coach Leslie Frazier was pretty clear.
Even though Minnesota has signed veteran Matt Cassel, there is no quarterback controversy in Purple Nation.
He says Christian Ponder is his number one quarterback going into next season, a point Cassel also made when he signed with the team last week.
Frazier told the NFL Network today that Cassel signed with the Vikes knowing that he’s here “to provide insurance for us.”
Furthermore: “Christian just needs to continue to improve like we all expect him to, but he’s our starting quarterback.”
