Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier is weighing in on the Percy Harvin soap opera.
Interviewed by KFAN-FM 100.3’s Paul Allen today at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Frazier didn’t flinch when asked about Harvin’s future with the club.
“He’s a guy who’s very valuable to our team and I’m hoping I get a chance to coach him next season,” Frazier said.
Later, in a session with the national media, Frazier said Harvin is an “extremely important” member of the team and a “focal point” of the Vikings offense.
Frazier also told NFL.com that he thinks that Harvin trade rumors are “media driven.”
Thursday, Vikings general manager Rick Spielman also addressed questions about Harvin being potential trade bait. Spielman once again said the Vikings has “no intent” on dealing the wide receiver.
On other matters, Frazier was a quote machine Friday:
On Adrian Peterson playing with a sports hernia: “He’s very unique.”
On Christian Ponder: “We’ve got what we need to bring a championship to Minnesota.”
On not getting a long-term contract extension: “It is what it is.”
