Days after getting cut by the Tennessee Titans former Gophers running back David Cobb had a workout with a new NFL team.
Multiple reports indicate that Cobb worked out for the Patriots Friday as NFL teams trimmed their rosters from 75 down to 53 before Saturday.
RB David Cobb worked out for the Patriots today. Won't sign now. Pats will assess weekend waiver wire before proceeding.

Cobb starred at Minnesota, he ran for 1,202 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior, than bettered those numbers as a senior when he scampered for 1,629 yards and 13 scores.
He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 draft, but Cobb battled injuries most of his rookie season with the Titans and finished the year with just 52 carries and 146 rushing yards.
He was released earlier this week after the Titans traded for DeMarco Murray and then drafted Derrick Henry during the offseason.
According to Pro Football Talk, the Patriots could be looking for help in the backfield since Dion Lewis will open the season on the reserve/PUP list.
