Wolves GM Flip Saunders addressed the media at 2 p.m. from Target Center today, officially announcing the signings of new off-guard Kevin Martin, swingmen Chase Budinger and Corey Brewer, and number 14 overall pick in last month’s NBA Draft Shabazz Muhammad.
Saunders also said the team is closing in on officially signing free agent forward Ronny Turiaf, and it’s been reported Turiaf is imminently the newest Wolf.
Saunders, without getting into detail about specifics about free agent center Nikola Pekovic, said that negotiations are progressing. Sources have reported the planned agreement with Pek is four years in length and worth $50 million.
Throughout the press conference, Saunders emphasized how much flexibility the signings give the team, specifically at the shooting guard, small forward, and power forward positions.
He took a step back after answering one question from the media to say; “there’s going to be a lot of fun at Target Center.”
