P.J. Fleck might have to watch his top quarterback recruit play college football somewhere other than the University of Minnesota.
Brennan Armstrong, a four-year starter for Shelby High in Ohio (3-star recruit by 247 Sports), has reopened his recruiting, meaning he’s no longer 100 percent committed to Minnesota, according to the Star Tribune.
This is very surprising considering Armstrong is quoted in a story from Scout.com on Monday saying he plans on graduating high school early and signing in December.
“I will be graduating early from high school, and I will be signing in December,” Armstrong is quoted in the story. “I’m ready to be on the different stage, and I’m excited to see what I can do at the college level.”
He also told Scout.com that he’ll be taking his official visit to Minnesota on Dec. 8.

Armstrong could still wind up at Minnesota but he clearly has his doubts about playing for the Gophers.
Armstrong verbally committed to the Gophers in February.
