The Minnesota Wild used a pair of goals in the final five minutes and a laser from Kevin Fiala to stun the St. Louis Blues in a 4-3 overtime victory on Saturday night.
The Blues continued their recent dominance over the Wild with a pair of goals in the first period. With Jordan Kryou and Sammy Blais each finding the back of the net, St. Louis carried a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.
The Wild had an answer to start the second period when Mats Zuccarello scored his 11th goal of the season to cut the Blues’ lead in half.

While the Wild had plenty of opportunities to tie the game, Jordan Binnington kept Minnesota out of the net. This helped the Blues regain their two-goal advantage with a David Perron goal that sent St. Louis into the third period with a 3-1 lead.
But no lead has been safe between these two teams and Saturday’s matchup was more of the same. Nico Sturm scored his ninth goal of the season with a deflection off a Jordan Brodin wrister to make it 3-2 and Brodin scored the equalizer with one minute remaining to send the game into overtime.
