When you make a flurry of moves like the Minnesota Wild did on Friday, you’re bound to anger some and hurt others.
The Star Tribune’s Jim Souhan sounds like he falls closer to the anger side, calling free agent signing Matt Cooke a “cheap-shot artist”, a statement that has gotten national attention from Yahoo! Sports and other outlets.
Souhan isn’t alone in his disdain for the way Cooke plays.
It seems as if Pierre Marc-Bouchard will fall closer to the side of hurt on his way out, and more precisely nostalgic, despite knowing that free agent moves are part of the business.
Bouchard played his entire career with Minnesota (11 seasons) and ranks second in games played for the franchise as well as third in points.
Meanwhile, speculation already flying about what line combinations the Wild will use when the squad hits the ice a few months from now.
