The Atlanta Falcons have ruled out their top receiver, Drake London, for Sunday’s clash with the Vikings.
London left the Falcons’ 28-23 loss to the Titans last Sunday in the third quarter with a groin injury. The former first-round pick has been unable to practice this week.
The 22-year-old is Atlanta’s leading receiver this season with 37 receptions for 438 yards and two touchdowns. Without London, the Falcons will rely on second-year tight end Kyle Pitts, tight end Jonnu Smith and receiver Mack Hollins in the passing game.
Former Viking Cordarrelle Patterson could also see time as a receiver, though his usage this season, while mainly in the running game, has dropped off this season.
Atlanta is also making a change at quarterback this week with Taylor Heinicke taking the reigns in Atlanta after Desmond Ridder’s shaky start.
Safety DeMarcco Hellams (hamstring) and fullback Keith Smith (concussion) have also been ruled out for Sunday’s game.
Minnesota, without Kirk Cousins, will take on the Falcons in Atlanta, with kickoff set for noon Sunday.
