An eye poke injury late in the fourth quarter of the Timberwolves’ victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder Thursday is serious enough to keep Kevin Love out of the game against the New York Knicks Sunday, the Star Tribune reports.
Wolves coach Rick Adelman said Love needs to be “careful the next few days” so he doesn’t do anything that “causes pressure in his eye.”
Adelman hopes Love will be back in the lineup Wednesday at home when the Wolves take on the Houston Rockets.
The injury in Thursday’s game at Target Center is the latest in an injury-filled season for Love.
Love broke his hand doing knuckle push-ups before the season started, but returned two weeks earlier than expected on Nov. 21.
He also injured his thumb earlier this month, and missed Ricky Rubio’s return Dec. 14 because of illness.
