Former Minnesota Wild hockey player Mark Parrish lived out a lifelong dream over the weekend when he was invited on stage to play guitar with Nickelback during the Canadian’s rock band’s show at Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Welch, Minnesota.
Parrish, now a frequent contributor to KFAN’s “Power Trip Morning Show,” walked on stage and didn’t miss a beat during Nickelback’s rendition of “Animal.”

Parrish said he started playing guitar 12 years after being inspired by how outstanding of a guitar player his brother had become.
Nickelback wasn’t just impressed with Parrish, they were wowed by the entire Minnesota crowd.
“No question the good people of Minnesota know how to rock,” Nickelback tweeted. “So, while we hadn’t had the distinct pleasure to play Welch yet, expectations were high. Welch, you delivered on every front. Job well done. Thank you for an incredible night!”

Parrish played for the Wild from 2006 to 2008 and now lives in Minnesota even though he travels to New York frequently as an analyst for New York Islanders games and also provided commentary during last year’s Minnesota high school state hockey tournament.
