Former Twins center fielder Torii Hunter was caught off guard Thursday when he found out the Angels signed Josh Hamilton to a five-year, $125 million contract. On his Twitter page Hunter wrote, “I was told money was tight but I guess the Angels had money hidden under a Mattress. Business is business but don’t lie.”
Hunter wanted to re-sign with the Angels, but he wasn’t given a qualifying offer. Last month he signed a two-year deal with the Tigers.
