A strong showing at the NFC Scouting Combine in Indianapolis might have Blake Cashman’s name rising on NFL draft boards.
The former Golden Gophers linebacker was among the top linebackers in all of the combine workouts, including 40-yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump and 20-yard shuttle.
- 40-yard dash: 4.50 seconds (4th)
- Vertical jump: 37.5 inches (tied 5th)
- Broad jump: 10 feet, 4 inches (tied 3rd)
- 20-yard shuttle: 4.12 seconds (4th)

Cashman, a former star player at the football hotbed that is Eden Prairie High School, was a walk-on with the Gophers in 2015 and is now being talked about as a hidden gem in the NFL Draft.
Cashman led Minnesota with 104 tackles, including 15 tackles for loss this past season. He didn’t participate in Minnesota’s bowl game and instead focused on preparing for the combine and NFL Draft.
It’s still too early to get caught up in any hype about where he could be drafted, but the common theme is that he likely made himself a lot of money with his performance in Indy, ahead of the NFL Draft on April 25-27.
I just finished the tape of Minnesota linebacker Blake Cashman. I can tell you right now he is a top three linebacker in this class and there aren't 30 better players in this class. I'm willing to stand on the table for a player like him. https://t.co/1dEIpV6R2R

Former #Gophers LB Blake Cashman has meet formally or informally with the #Vikings, Pats, Cardinals, Redskins, Saints, and Chiefs. He did 18 bench reps, per @SpoonfulOfSport. His special teams flexibility will aid him greatly. https://t.co/SB3I12W4mX
