Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen was back at Vikings practice Thursday.
Griffen missed last Sunday’s game and also didn’t practice Wednesday because of what the team called “an illness.” ESPN’s Ben Goessling reported Wednesday that Griffen underwent a precautionary heart-related test this week to make sure everything was normal.

While Griffen didn’t elaborate on the illness he told reporters after Thursday’s walk through his chance of playing against Detroit is 100 percent.
“I’m not going to release all my medical information to you,” Griffen told the Star Tribune. “That’s not my job. … That’s private and I’m going to keep it that way. But yeah, I was sick and handled it accordingly.”
According to Pro Football Talk, Griffen began feeling ill Sunday morning. He said his wife took him to the hospital after he talked with the team’s training staff.

His deactivation got the NFL to take notice. The league said it would investigate why the Vikings didn’t report the illness prior to listing him as inactive Sunday 90 minutes before game time.
“I just feel like [the Vikings] made all the right decisions,” Griffen told reporters Thursday. “My health is good. Everything got checked out right. We’ve got the best organization here. We had to follow NFL protocol and everything accordingly. I’m happy to be back.”
Griffen said he returned home in time to catch the end of the game on television, then added that he was happy to be back with his teammates.
