EuroBasket 2013 rolled on with the beginning of round two yesterday, and today Spain was once again taken down at the hands of a underdog.
Spain led by eight with nine minutes left against Greece, but fell apart down the stretch, getting outscored 27-15 at the highly thought of FIBA European Championships, to conclude a 79-75 defeat today.
Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio once again had a quiet performance in defeat, going 2-7 from the field and totaling six points and three assists while collecting four fouls. At one point he had to leave the game due to injury, but it was deemed nothing serious.

But nothing serious for the PG— Sportando (@Sportando) September 12, 2013
He did return, and despite his third 2-7 shooting performance, Rubio’s offensive game has been efficient.

This was Spain’s first game of the second round, but results against teams that also moved on carry over, so the Spaniards are now 1-2, having won once and lost once to second round group members they played in round one. The top four teams in each of the remaining two groups will advance to the next round.
Rubio teammate and Wolves guard Alexey Shved was not lucky enough to make it to the second round of Eurobasket, his Russian squad was eliminated in round one.
There was a bright spot for Shved, leaving Eurobasket having scored 16.4 points per game, which currently ranks 10th in the tournament.
