Wolves guard Ricky Rubio ran into first half foul trouble in Spain’s 68-40 win over Croatia, but managed to put up seven points and seven assists in their opening round win in Eurobasket 2013.
The 24-team European basketball tournament will also feature Wolves guard Alexey Shved and Russia, who went down at the hands of Marco Belinelli and Italy this afternoon 76-69. Shved was solid, posting 17 points and five assists.
Wolves center Nikola Pekovic was also supposed to participate in Eurobasket for his home country of Montenegro, but was mired in contract talks with the Wolves that went past the deadline Montenegro Head Coach Luka Pavicevic was willing to wait.
Eurobasket started today and runs through September 22.
