After Brian Dozier called a team meeting before the start of Friday’s Twins-Indians game at Target Field, he led off the game with a double and three batters later Eduardo Escobar starting doing damage with his bat.
Escobar smacked his team-leading ninth and 10th homers of the season, a three-run homer in the first inning and a solo shot in the seventh to lead the Twins to a 7-4 win over Cleveland.
The second homer by Escobar left his bat at 108.8 mph and traveled 443 feet, according to Statcast. It’s the longest home run by a Twin this season.
Escobar now has 31 homers in his last 179 games dating back to last season.

Eddie Rosario also made the highlight reel with a running catch, bobbling the ball a couple of times before securing it with his bare hand.
The victory moves the Twins back within 5 1/2 games of first-place Cleveland.
Lance Lynn will be opposed by Trevor Bauer on Saturday, first pitch at 3:10 p.m.
