The struggles for the Minnesota Wild continued as they fell to the Anaheim Ducks 3-1 Wednesday night in Anaheim. It was Minnesota’s fifth straight loss.
1. Drought comes to an end
After being shutout in back-to-back games, the Wild finally broke their scoreless drought in the first period. It took Jarret Stoll’s first goal in a Wild uniform though to break the drought.

2. Wild power play struggles haunt
The Wild continue to struggle on the power play, especially on the road. Minnesota was 0-of-3 on the power play Wednesday night, including one that occurred at the 3:55 mark of the third period, with the Wild trailing 2-1.
Minnesota now has just one power play goal in their last 16 games.
3. It’s disappearing Thomas
The Wild are looking for Thomas Vanek. Vanek, who has 14 goals and 14 assists through 45 games this season has disappeared from the Minnesota offense.
While the Wild have scored just a total of six goals in the last six games, Vanek hasn’t even had a shot in three of them.

To make matters worse, Vanek posted a -3 plus-minus rating Wednesday night alone.
