The Minnesota Wild fell to the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night 2-1, it was the first Wild loss and the first two goals the team had given up all season.
The Wild held a 1-0 lead until the third period, but let it slip away when the Ducks scored two goals in the third period.
Corey Perry’s goal at the 11:35 mark of the third period broke the tie and put the Ducks up for good. The goal came off of an ill-timed Wild turnover.
After a scoreless first period, Jason Zucker gave the Wild the early lead when he beat Frederik Andersen to put the Wild up 1-0.
Darcy Kuemper was outstanding again for the Wild. He stopped 24 of the 26 shots he faced and kept the Ducks off the scoreboard through the first two periods, before Andrew Cogliano evened up the game.
It ended a streak that kept opponents off the scoreboard for the first eight periods of the season.
Darcy Kuemper with some more history… Now holds longest shutout streak to start a season since 1989. Beats Brian Boucher's mark (163:41).

The last time an NHL team had opened the season with three consecutive shutouts was the 1930 Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Wild remained perfect on the penalty kill so far, they turned away the Ducks during all four of their power play attempts, but they missed repeated opportunities during their power play chances as well and were 0-of-3.
#mnwild coach Mike Yeo said the story of tonight were the missed opportunities offensively. http://t.co/jeYrXg8Sd6
