The Vikings have restructured Kevin Williams’ contract, ensuring the defensive tackle will stay in Minnesota for the 2013 season, the Pioneer Press reports.
Williams will take a $2.5 million pay cut, but the Vikings will guarantee the remaining $5 million, which consists of a $4.9 million base salary and a $100,000 workout bonus.
Williams, 32, also agreed to to become a free agent after next season.
The move clears more cap space for the franchise heading into the NFL draft.
The five-time, first-team All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowler is coming off a season in which he posted 20 tackles and two sacks.
