While there are plenty of things that have gone wrong for the Minnesota Vikings in 2020, one thing that has gone right has been the rookie season of Justin Jefferson.
With one game to go, Jefferson has broken the Vikings’ franchise record for receptions by a rookie (79) and is threatening both Randy Moss’ franchise record (1,313) and Anquan Boldin’s NFL record (1,377) for receiving yards by a rookie.
Numbers like that should put Jefferson in the race to become the NFL’s offensive rookie of the year, but in case his campaign needed more validation, several other NFL stars are revealing themselves to be members of the Justin Jefferson Fan Club.
In a post on Instagram, Bleacher Report asked fans who they think should be named the offensive rookie of the year for 2020. One of the first responses was from a familiar face as former Viking Stefon Diggs endorsed Jefferson with a simple, but effective reply: “Jefferson duhhhh.”

While Diggs’ endorsement may resonate in Minnesota, Jefferson got another show of support after the Vikings’ loss to the New Orleans Saints on Friday.
After Jefferson put up six catches and 85 yards, he received an autographed jersey from Saints quarterback Drew Brees with the message “You are the next generation of great ones!”

As the fifth rookie receiver in the past 20 years to make the Pro Bowl, it appears Jefferson has a solid case to be the seventh Viking to win the award and first since Percy Harvin in 2009. Even if he doesn’t it win, the future is bright for the 21-year-old rising star.
