Dressed in pink, Joe Mauer’s 9-month-old twins – the M and Em girls – joined him on the field as he accepted his Silver Slugger Award.
It was Emily and Maren’s first public appearance, the Pioneer Press says.

Emily Teresa and Maren Virginia were born last July. Mauer had hopped a charter flight from a game in California and arrived at the hospital just 30 minutes before his wife gave birth. The twins were born premature and spent 2 1/2 weeks under observation at Children’s Hospital before going home.
Thursday’s ceremony was held before the Twins (3-5) played the Oakland Athletics. It was Mauer’s fifth Silver Slugger Award, which he won at the end of last season for being the American League’s top hitting catcher.
Mauer made the move to first base full time after getting a season-ending concussion at the end of last year.
Mauer isn’t the only Minnesota athlete to have a set of twins. In January, Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise’s wife gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl.
