There seems to be growing buzz about the Minnesota Timberwolves’ interest in Chicago Bulls swingman Jimmy Butler.
Reports surfaced earlier this week that Minnesota is willing to send Chicago the No. 5 pick in this month’s NBA draft for Butler, but the talk from Chicago’s side is that there’s no deal without Andrew Wiggins being included.
That would seem to be a difficult pill for the Wolves to swallow because many NBA experts believe Wiggins, who is just 21, is on the path to NBA stardom.
However, there’s this from Bleacher Report NBA analyst Ric Bucher.

While Bucher thinks the Wolves would be getting off easy with a 1-for-1 deal of Wiggins for Butler, there are others who say that deal makes no sense. CBS Sports’ James Herbert says that swap won’t happen.
“As great as Butler is, he was born in 1989 and Wiggins was born in 1995. There is no reason for the Wolves to trade Wiggins, who just finished his second season in the league and is on the same development track as Karl-Anthony Towns. They want to let those two grow into the best duo in the NBA.”
Rumors have also circulated that either Zach LaVine or Ricky Rubio could be included with the No. 5 overall pick in a package for Butler.
