The New Jersey Devils spoiled the Minnesota Wild’s comeback bid 4-3, in overtime on Thursday.
Andy Green beat Wild goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov to put the game away after the Devils let a two goal lead slip away late in the third period.
Patrick Elias had a big night for the Devils as he picked up three assists in the game.
The Wild trailed 2-0 heading into the third, but outscored New Jersey 3-1 in the final frame to force overtime.
Less than 30 seconds into the third period Zach Parise put the Wild on the scoreboard with his 24th goal of the season. For Parise the goal came against the team he spent seven seasons with.
Devils fans booed their former captain from start to finish, including during the lineup introductions prior to the drop of the puck. Parise was assisted by Ryan Suter and Jared Spurgeon.

That cut the Devils lead to one, but New Jersey quickly pushed it back to two on a goal from veteran Jaromir Jagr.
Mikael Granlund and Matt Cooke each then scored for Minnesota to tie the game at three and force overtime. Cooke tipped in a slap shot from Marco Scandella to tie the game.
Bryzgalov finished with 24 saves in his second consecutive start in net.
The Wild, who hold the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference, are 1-2-1 in their past four games. They return home to play Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings.
