Twins left fielder Eddie Rosario is putting together an incredible season, but it’s not translating to the All-Star votes he deserves.
MLB released the latest American League All-Star voting tallies on Tuesday and there are 11 players with more votes than Rosario.

The three starters for the AL outfield in the All-Star Game are all but set in stone, with Mookie Betts, Mike Trout and Aaron Judge all with more than a million votes. The next closest is Michael Brantley, but based on statistics, Rosario should be fourth in voting.
Betts, Trout and Judge rank 1-2-3 in the statistic that often decides the league MVP: WAR (wins above replacement player). Sitting fourth in WAR among AL outfielders is Rosario, who’s on pace to hit .321 with 38 homers, 110 RBI, 48 doubles, and 118 runs.
Today’s Top Sports
– You need tickets for Vikings training camp and getting them is complicated.
– Jalen Rose would be “shocked” if Wolves don’t trade Towns or Wiggins.
Statistically, Rosario is blowing away every player ahead of him with the exception of Betts, Trout and Judge.
- Rosario: .321 AVG, 16 HR, 46 RBI, 20 2B, 87 H, 50 R
- Brantley: .321 AVG, 11 HR, 40 RBI, 14 2B, 79 H, 36 R
- Springer: .279 AVG, 14 HR, 41 RBI, 16 2B, 80 H, 54 R
- Benintendi: .299 AVG, 12 HR, 47 RBI, 18 2B, 79 H, 51 R
- Gardner: .258 AVG, 5 HR, 21 RBI, 10 2B, 59 H, 42 R
- Gonzalez: .259 AVG, 5 HR, 33 RBI, 11 2B, 58 H, 24 R
- Haniger: .269 AVG, 16 HR, 53 RBI, 11 2B, 70 H, 36 R
- Reddick: .241 AVG, 6 HR, 20 RBI, 6 2B, 40 H, 22 R
- Castellanos: .310 AVG, 9 HR, 41 RBI, 22 2B, 89 H, 36 R
Of those players, Rosario ranks first in average and homers, second in doubles and hits, and third in RBI and runs.
Also disconcerting for the Twins is that third baseman Eduardo Escobar doesn’t rank near the top AL All-Star voting. That’s a shame since since he’s second in average (.302), fourth in homers (12), third in RBI (45), first in doubles (31), and second in hits (76) among third basemen.
Escobar is on pace for 71 doubles, which would be the MLB record of 67 set way back in the 1930s.
It’s a fan vote, which the Twins never do all that well in, so hopefully Rosario and Escobar make the team via selection other than fan vote.
