The Timberwolves have yet to make a move in NBA free agency and one of the names closely linked to them has signed with the Lakers.
Luol Deng, a veteran small forward who played for Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau in Chicago, has agreed to a four-year, $72 million contract to play in Los Angeles, according to The Vertical.
Meanwhile, Jon Krawczynski says the Wolves “are pushing” to sign Pau Gasol, but they might not be ahead of the likes of Portland and San Antonio to get him. Gasol was awesome for the Bulls last season, averaging 16.1 points, 11 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
David Aldridge is reporting that the Wolves are in the mix for former Pacers center Ian Mahinmi.
I'm told Thibodeau had a long talk with Pau Gasol last night. Wolves pushing for him. Pau looking hard at Portland, San Antonio as well
