His season is already over, and now it’s been confirmed that Twins pitcher Samuel Deduno will soon undergo surgery on his throwing shoulder.
The good news is that it’s not Tommy John surgery, which will knock a pitcher out for more than a year.
“It’s not a serious surgical procedure,” Twins general manager Terry Ryan told the Pioneer Press. “It’s something that we think needs to be done.”
Deduno, who went 8-8 with a 3.83 ERA this season, will have the operation on Wednesday.
