MINNEAPOLIS — The carnage continues at Target Field.
Not only did the Twins lose again to the Royals, this time by a score of 3-1, but they also lost two players due to injury during the game: pitcher Samuel Deduno and outfielder Wilkin Ramirez.
Deduno (8-8) was lifted after three innings because of sore shoulder. By that time, he had given up three runs to pick up the loss.
Ramirez came out of the game in the fifth inning with a bruised left shin, when he hit himself with a foul ball.
As for the game, Minnnesota managed five hits off Royals starter Bruce Chen (6-2) who went 5 2/3 innings to pick up the victory, and were held hitless by the Kansas City bullpen.
The Twins lone run came in the bottom of the sixth when Brian Dozier connected for his 14th home run of the year.
The Twins now head to Texas for a three game set against the Rangers followed by a three game series next week against the Houston Astros.
