Sam Deduno pitched six shutout innings to lead the Twins to a shutout win over the Red Sox, 5-0 Thursday night in Boston. Denard Span, Ben Revere, Ryan Doumit drove in the first three runs for Minnesota and Brian Dozier added insurance with a two-run homer in the ninth.
The Red Sox finished with only two hits, both from Adrian Gonzalez. The Twins’ bullpen pitched the final three innings allowing no hits and no walks.
Dozier finished 3-4 with the HR and 2 RBI. Revere’s RBI single in the third extended his hitting streak to a career-high 16 games.
