Hamstrings are the talker following day No. 9 of Vikings training camp in Mankato.
The hamstrings belong to linebacker Desmond Bishop and cornerbacks Xavier Rhodes and Josh Robinson.
Bishop and Rhodes were held out practice, according to KFAN. Rhodes said his hamstring is “great” and he’s taking it “day-by-day.”
The Pioneer Press reports that Bishop is “day-to-day.”
Robinson says he’s fine and hopes to play Friday when the Vikings open preseason football at home against the Houston Texans.
Perhaps the highlight of the day was a 90 yard punt by rookie Jeff Locke.
The Vikings are considering using Cordarrelle Patterson as a punt returner, according to the Star Tribune. Patterson lined up for a few returns on Monday.
In his Monday Morning Mailbag, Vikings.com’s Mike Wobschall says rookie linebacker Michael Mauti is an early camp surprise.
When asked by KFAN which player has been most impressive so far, Adrian Peterson said Everson Griffin. WCCO reports that Griffin has forced his way into the defensive line rotation — perhaps more than he was used last season.
The Vikings released their first depth chart of training camp. Take a look at it here.
