Five days of Vikings training are in the books following another spirited practice Wednesday afternoon.
Who’s standing out so far? Vikings.com has three players — Jarius Wright, Xavier Rhodes and Michael Mauti — as standout players through five days.
Part of Wright’s visible improvement thus far is because he doesn’t feel like he has to replace Percy Harvin.
“No one on the team expects me to be Percy Harvin. None of the coaches expect me to be Percy Harvin. All I can be is Jarius Wright,” he told CBS Minnesota.
Harvin received bad news on Tuesday when he found out that he’ll miss the majority of his first season in Seattle thanks to a hip injury.
Rhodes gave the Vikings a scare when he stayed on the ground for bit after a play. He got up , and according to KFAN.com he was fine.
Before camp started, the belief was that Erin Henderson and Desmond Bishop would battle for the starting middle linebacker job. Instead, it’s Henderson’s job to lose, and Bishop isn’t a threat to take it.
If Matt Kalil looks different this year, it’s because he dropped 20 pounds of “baby fat” and replaced it with 20 pounds of healthy weight. KFAN.com has the story.
