The Vikings ran through another productive day at training camp on Tuesday, and on Wednesday night they’ll break camp and return to the Twin Cities for the rest of the season.
Tuesday’s practice was a day for members of the secondary to stand out. Vikings.com reports that Josh Robinson, Marcus Sherels and Andrew Sendejo all intercepted passes — none of which were thrown by Christian Ponder or Matt Cassel.
Head coach Leslie Frazier says rookie wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson will not move up the depth chart — not yet, anyway.
Offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave says the quarterbacks are “starting to trust” Patterson.
Joe Webb told KFAN.com that he’s getting used to hitting players as a wide receiver rather than being hit as a quarterback.
The Pioneer Press has a good article about the health and success of the offensive line.
“I think we’re picking up where we left off last year,” offensive line coach Jeff Davidson said. “The communication, especially what’s unspoken, how to play shoulder to shoulder inside, is much better. The way those guys are able to function as one as opposed to five individuals is so key.”
Leslie Frazier told reporters that he’s still not sure if Adrian Peterson will play in Friday’s preseason game at Buffalo.
“We are going to talk about Peterson as well and see if this is the week we want to put him out there or if we want to wait another week,” Frazier said. “We are actually going to talk about that in the next day or two.”
Instead of watching film on Monday night, Frazier took the players to see the movie, “Red 2.”
