Breathe easy, Viking fans.
Good news for Vikings rookie defensive tackle, Shariff Floyd, who says his knee is just fine following an injury that forced him out of the preseason opener against the Texans on Friday night.
“Nothing to worry about,” Floyd told KFAN’s A.j. Mansour. “If I could have went back in I would have.”
Mansour reports that Floyd woke up with more soreness on Sunday morning than he did Saturday morning. The pain prompted the Vikings to have Floyd undergo an MRI on his knee, the results of which came back negative, according to the Star Tribune.
The news isn’t as optimistic for veteran defensive back, Jacob Lacey. Lacey had his knee scoped and is out 2-to-4 weeks.
As for Sunday’s training camp practice, Vikings.com reports the quarterbacks were quite impressive, especially in the two-minute drill.
Stephen Burton continues to impress. Judd Zulgad and the rest of Viking nation is taking notice.
Head coach Leslie Frazier says the starters will play into the second quarter of this Friday’s preseason game at Buffalo. MVP running back Adrian Peterson might play.
“He’s always in the conversation,” Frazier said of Peterson to the Pioneer Press. “We’ll see where it goes with him.”
