It can be hard to think about baseball during the middle of January in Minnesota, but for Twins fans that’s when the excitement for the upcoming baseball season begins to build.
TwinsFest is returning to Target Field for a second straight year. This year the event will run from Jan. 23-25.
“We’re excited to again host TwinsFest at Target Field, the capitol of Twins Territory,” said Twins president Dave St. Peter in a statement. “As always, TwinsFest will serve as the unofficial start to a new baseball season while also helping raise significant proceeds for the Twins Community Fund and its many worthwhile programs across Twins Territory.”
The Pioneer Press notes the event has become a staple of the Minnesota sports scene since it debuted in 1989. Over the years the event was primarily held at the Metrodome, but has also been held at Mall of America and the National Sports Center before it moved to Target Field last year.
Fans will have a chance to get autographs, photos with their favorite Twins, see rare sports memorabilia and take a tours of the clubhouse and ballpark.
Tickets for the event go on sale Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for kids 14 and under. All proceeds from the event go to the Twins Community Fund.
Over the past 25 years, TwinsFest has raised a total of $4.2 million for programs and organizations supported by the fund.
