Plenty of couples would consider watching a Gophers game a solid date idea, but all you romantics out there can can outdo a game by taking your significant other on a date with Gophers head coach Jerry Kill and his wife Rebecca.
It’s Date Night with Coach and Rebecca Kill, the fourth annual night of fun with the Kills.
This year’s date is Thursday, July 23, featuring a night of horse racing, football conversation and food and beverages at Canterbury Park in Shakopee.
Couples can register for $350 and singles can join in for $175.
The event will be held in Cantebury’s newly remodeled Triple Crown Suite.
Attendees will be welcomed by fellow Gophers staff and coaches and leave with a parting gift from the Gophers.
Kill and the Gophers have steadily improved since his 3-9 record in his debut 2011 season. In 2014, Kill took the Gophers to its first New Year’s Day bowl game since 1961, where they lost to Missouri.
Minnesota is expected to contend in the Big Ten West division this season, and Big Ten Network says a big reason for Minnesota’s big jump is its defense, which might be the best kept secret in the conference.
