Daniel Carlson’s rookie season in the NFL is a lot better now than it was at the beginning.
Carlson, who was cut by the Vikings after missing three field goals in Minnesota’s Week 2 tie with the Green Bay Packers, has gotten himself back on track with the Oakland Raiders and on Sunday he booted the game-winning field goal as time expired to snap Oakland’s five-game losing streak.

Carlson made all three of his field goal attempts on Sunday – all of them in the second half – and has made five straight over his last two games.
“That was almost a little redemption,” Carlson said after the game, via the Raiders’ website.
“The one I missed in Minnesota was probably 35 yards, so with this one I think it was too. It’s cool to finally get the opportunity again like that, obviously it was cool for the team. I’m happy to be here, love getting with all these guys, and they’ve been welcoming me really well. I’m excited to keep working toward the future.”

Minnesota traded up to select Carlson in the fifth round in the 2018 NFL Draft, so maybe he’s starting to live up to the hype, albeit with a different team.
