Minnesota Vikings players Dalvin Cook and Danielle Hunter announced on Wednesday that he will be donating their royalties checks from the video game Madden NFL 20 to Minneapolis’ North Memorial hospital to help fund the pursuit of personal protection equipment (aka PPE).
I want to say THANK YOU to those who continue to put their lives on the line each day & fight COVID-19. To MN's @northmemorial hospital, I’m donating my @EAMadden check from the @nflpa to be used for vital PPE gear. Let's make a difference together💜🏈https://t.co/aRoiaeJPwH

As one of the best franchises in video game history, Cook and Hunter’s royalties checks from the NFLPA are not small ones. Back in January, NFLPA president Eric Winston estimated that each player receives between $55,000 to $65,000 for their likeness, which has been withheld for each of the past three iterations of Madden.
The search for PPE has been a battle within the battle to contain the disease. Gov. Tim Walz said in his briefing on Wednesday that he was considering extending the state’s “Stay at Home” order. Read more about the situation here.
