The father whose YouTube video called out a pair of twins for sending his adopted African American daughter Snapchat messages (which included racial slurs) now says he discovered his daughter has been using the N-word on the app.
Bradley Knudson’s video detailed what appeared to be a cyber-bullying incident targeting his daughter, sent by two Prior Lake High School students. It also featured an exchange with the senders’ father, identified as Deron Puro, which includes the use of slurs and curse words directed toward Knudson himself.
The video went viral and saw Knudson in demand among regional and national media.
But in a comment on his YouTube video posted Thursday, he says his 14-year-old daughter has not been taking his anti-bullying campaign as seriously, saying:
I have never liked it [the N-word] I’ve always thought it was inappropriate that they used it. I have now found out that my daughter during the WCCO interview decide…d to use Snapchat and send people videos of her thinking that this was a game and it was funny and she actually uses the N-word twice.
Regardless of your skin color I and my wife do not tolerate this word our daughter is going to be reprimanded in an appropriate manner. I am extremely saddened and disappointed because of this video she has discredited the message that we wanted to convey.

During the interview, his daughter told WCCO how the messages she had received impacted her, saying: “On the outside I acted like it didn’t affect me and brushed it off … but on the inside I was kind of crying.”

Prior Lake School District is currently investigating the claims on Knudson’s video, saying it does “not tolerate racism, harassment or bullying.”
Puro meanwhile was let go by his employer Roy E. Abbott Futures, Inc. Wednesday. The company released a statement confirming he no longer works for the firm.
Knudson says he hopes that his daughter’s actions won’t undermine the message he and his wife are trying to make, saying: “Wendy and I are still dedicated to highlighting this issue and help educate young people on the effects of bullying and how to deal with bullying.”
